Motherhood

Sunday morning

You’re so beautiful I just can’t
I’m supposed to feed you sitting up straight
Follow the method so we can both later sleep
I just got lazy my love, rest peacefully
You can graze a little tonight on my boobie
We’ll lay together in the wee hours
You’ll eat a little, I’ll watch carefully
Maybe I’ll regret later when the whole day goes a-wire
Because we didn’t follow proper structure
But right now I feel native and free
You sleeping so close to me
For a little while this will be our rebellion
Midnight snack and onto dawn
We were both so exhausted
I thought we deserved
A good breakfast in bed on this Sunday morning
