Motherhood

Saturday night fever

It’s not even 8pm
We’re already in bed, exhausted
What a beautiful day we had
Laughing, singing and playing with your dad
Having so much fun with grandpa and grandma

Now it’s time to rest
Settle back into our little nest
And right at this second
Listening to the rain falling outside
It clicked

Like the buckle on your tiny car seat
The unbreakable bond between a mother and a daughter, established
As if the ombilical cord was back
But this time it ain’t soft and swirly
It’s as strong as steel, platinum gold

Our souls were intertwined
Our hearts are now linked
Wherever you are, wherever you go
We got this landline to reach each other
Whenever you need me, in nanoseconds I’ll astrotravel to you

I swear, like my dad swore to me a long time ago
By the moon in the sky and the stars
I’ll be there
